The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and its Gomel Branch, State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, Belarus Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research, Scientific and Technical Council at Gomel Regional Executive Committee and V.A. Belyi Metal-Polymer Research Institute of NASB (MPRI NASB) notify on
The International Scientific and Technical Conference “Polymer Composites and Tribology” (POLYCOMTRIB-2011) to be held in Gomel, Belarus on June 27-30, 2011.
The conference will discuss fundamental and applied aspects of materials science of polymer composites, coatings and films, modern tribology, latest achievements in this field and promote creative communication between scientists and engineers.

The official languages are Russian and English.
Abstracts will be printed out by the conference opening in the language of presentation. Full manuscripts will be published on the request of Organizing Committee in journals «Materials, Technologies, Tools» and «Friction and Wear».

SCOPE

– physical-chemical basis of developing polymer composites and interfacial interaction of components;
– structure and properties of composites, methods of control, analysis and durability forecast;
– production techniques of composites, design and application efficiency of composite components, recycling;
– nanostructural systems, nanomaterials and nanotechnologies;
– fluorocarbon polymers: production, investigation, application;
– physico-chemistry, technology and properties of coatings and films;
– physics, chemistry and mechanics of the surface;
– triboanalysis (advances in the theory of friction, wear and lubrication of solids);
– tribological materials science (study and monitoring of material properties in movable joints; advanced lubricants and additives;
– triboengineering (engineering facilities, friction joints, methods of analysis and design;
– tribomonitoring (means and methods of diagnostics, monitoring and testing of tribosystems.

PRESENTATION

Each author may present not more than 2 papers. The participants should send filled-in registration form and an abstract by mail before April 1, 2011. Please, send simultaneously an abstract by e-mail to the address: mpri-conf@mail.ru The registration form should be filled-in for each participant and manuscript according to the attached form. Indicate phone number, fax and e-mail for correspondence. The papers sent by fax won’t be accepted.

ABSTRACTS

The abstracts should be e-mailed to the secretariat. Please, prepare your abstracts without figures or references using:

1. Word 97/2000; Times New Roman, font 12;
2. name the file by the first author’s surname;
3. 1.5 line interval, with 10 mm indentation;
4. upper, left and lower margins – 20 mm, right margin – 10 mm;
5. don’t exceed 2200 symbols.

The abstracts should begin with the title of the paper followed by the author(s)’ initials and surname(s), affiliation, city and country. The abstracts should contain statement of the problem, its essence and methods of investigations, results obtained and a conclusion. The organizing Committee feels free to make editorial alterations or reject a paper inconsistent with the topic of the Conference, not complying with above requirements or sent after April 1, 2011.
Abstracts will be printed by the conference opening in the language of presentation. Full manuscripts will be published on the request of Organizing Committee in journals «Materials, Technologies, Tools», and «Friction and Wear». English version of the journal «Friction and Wear» is issued by «Pleiades Publishing» Co. and is disseminated by one of the major databases dealing with scientific literature http://www.springerlink.com.

VENUE

TThe conference will be held in the Republic of Belarus in Gomel. Metal-Polymer Research Institute of NASB was founded in 1969 by Academician Belyi V.A. At present more than 60 Doctors and Candidates of Science specializing in the fields covered by the Conference are working at the institute.
